Relative- It's continuous / it doesn't reset.
Event- Is the cause of an action. Actions- is the effect of your event. Ex) moving, making a noise, going somewhere. They are if, then statements. Sprite- A 2D that can be programmed, but does nothing in the game.

The definition of game design is how a game is designed or created. A video game is a software-entertainment product that has a game environment, rules, and a victory condition. An example of a video game is Super Mario Bros. The game environment is the setting altered or designed to play a specific game activity. An example of this is would be the tennis court in Wii Sports. A rule is a restraint that determines what can or cannot happen in a game. An example of this would be the rule that you cannot infinitely fly in Super Mario. A victory condition defines what the player must achieve in order to win the game. An example of this would be how you need to beat Eggman to beat a stage. The difference between a regular game and a video game is that a regular game is physical while a video game is digital.
A game designer is someone who is involved in the development of a game, their purpose is to help design the game and code the game. Games in Game-Maker are based off the concept of rooms. Other names for a room in 2D game design software are maps, levels, or frames. A sprite is a 2D image used in a game. Objects in Game-Maker are Sprites that can be programmed and can be placed in rooms. An instance is an exact copy, and it inherits the properties of the parent object. The Magnavox Odyssey was the first video game console. The first two video games were Spacewar and Pong. I wish to learn how to design a game in Game-Maker.
A static object is an object that doesn't move and an active object can be interacted with during gameplay. A static object would be the background while a active object would be like a ball or a wall. The logical design process makes it easier to interpret an if/then statement. An example would be if a ball hits a wall, then it will bounce back. Coding is a serious of numbers or patterns that cause something to happen in the digital world. Three types of coding are Java, Python, and C. The most popular coding language is Java because it's the key coding for android games. If the ghost hits the wall then it bounces back, if you hit the up arrow the ghost will go up, and if you hit a enemy your game will end.
John Barnes Linnett created and patented the flip book. It was originally called the flick book. The first movie Walt disney used with this style of animation is was The Nightmare before Christmas. Stop animation is the process of animation through which you take a picture of an object move it slightly then take another, once you put all the images together it creates an animation. Another name for stop motion is stop animation. Some things you can use for stop animation are puppets, clay, and plastic malleable figures. The common principle of stop motion are that the the bigger the length you move the object in between pictures the faster the object will appear to move. Typically 12 frames of stop motion create 1 second of animation. Armature is the metal framework of which a clay sculpture is molded around. Jack for The Nightmare
It is a location on a timeline that marks the beginning or end of a transition. It also defines where a transition should start or stop. The frequency at which frames in a video are played is what a frame rate is. Frames per second is how many frames in a second are shown, this matters because it determines how clear or fluent your animation will be. It is the process of adding key frames in between regular frames. Rotoscoping is the act of transfering a live action image into another film sequence using a rotoscope.
The difference between a zoetrope, Thaumatrope, and a Phenakistoscope is that they are all constructed differently and all create different objects. The Thaumatrope was created first in 1825, The zoetrope was created next in 1834, and finally the Phenakistoscope was created in 1841.
The first record of animation was a short called fantasmagorie. A Zoetrope is a cylinder that when spun and viewed through a small scope creates the illusion of movement. A Thaumatrope is two pictures overlapped attached to strings that when twisted blend the two pictures to combine them. A Phenakistoscope is a animation toy similar to the zoetrope that has small images around one circular disc that when spun creates the illusion of movement. They all work on the principal that when images are blended together they create the illusion of movement. Persistence of vision is where multiple images are combined together to create the illusion of movement. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first cel animation movie. The first fully computer animated movie is toy story. Gertie the Dinosaur was created by a man named Winsor McCay.
My favorite childhood cartoon was Dexters Laboratory because I liked the characters and art style. It's the optical illusion that your mind creates when multiple images combine together to make a single image. Apparent motion is an optical illusion that makes you see movement when you see multiple pictures in fast succession. The best explanation of animation is multiple frames that are moved in fast succession to create a moving object or scene. This way is the best because it is simplistic. Hand drawn animation is many drawings that are drawn just slightly different every time to create the illusion of movement. Cel is drawn animation that is done on celluloid. Stop action is when you take a picture of something than move it a little than you take all your pictures and combine them and play them in fast succession to make it look like a moving scene. Computer Animation is animation that is made with computers such as CGI. the best type of process is computer animation.
Sepia: I will convey a sense of nostalgia by displaying classic children toys such as toy blocks and stuffed animals. I will take a picture of a teddy bear with a sepia filter and if I can find toy blocks i'll take a photo of the teddy bear and the toy blocks. Black and White: I'll will try and convey a feeling of sadness by showing the repetitiveness of an office job. I will do this by writing in big letters on paper work "repetitive". I will put this in black and white to try and convey dullness as well. Silhouette: I will try and display a message of peace by displaying two people shaking hands. I will also make them silhouettes to display that no two certain people are shaking hands but to show it's he idea of making up and forgiving each other. I will also make the background outside by a brick wall. Double Exposure: I will display that people are different then they are on the inside then on the outside by showing a person with a fire burning through their body. This will express how that person feels on the inside. Emphasis: I will take a picture of grass and convert the color to a black and white photo. Afterwards I will make one blade of grass or a small group of grass green to show the message that not everything is a dull as it seems. Forced Perspective: I will be holding someone in my hand to show the phrase holding the fate of someone's life in your hands. I will show this by having someone standing in the palm of my hand with m looking towards them. Double Exposure: I will try to convey the idea of mother nature to the viewer by picturing a woman with a beautiful cliff side water fall showing through her body. Forced Perspective: I'll will picture me "holding" a globe to show the phrase of holding the world in your hands. |
